Position Title:
Legal Counsel
Accountable to:
Chief Executive Officer
1. KEY ROLES
· To represent PHC in the cases/matters pending adjudication before different fora, including but not limited to Learned Civil Courts, Learned District Courts & Superior Courts of the Country
· Prepare and submit, on behalf of the PHC, written arguments/parawise comments/replies etc after getting them duly vetted by the PHC.
· Handle all the litigation in the courts of law as advised by the management, in a diligent manner, safeguarding the interest of the Commission.
- Any other assignment regarding legal matters given by the management.
2. QUALIFICATIONS
- A graduate degree in law from an HEC recognized institute.
- Additional qualifications in medical jurisprudence will be preferred.
3. EXPERIENCE
The Counsel(s) shall have a license to appear in the High Court(s) of Pakistan and a minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation. Counsel(s) with demonstrated knowledge/experience in the following fields shall be preferred:
· Medical Jurisprudence
· Understanding of Governmental Legal procedures.
· Handling medico-legal cases.
· Patients’ Charters and complaints procedures for health and social care organizations.
· Legislative drafting.
The Counsel(s) shall be required to provide a list of at least 10 cases of High Court(s) and 20 cases of Lower Court(s), conducted by him/her.
- Any other assignment regarding legal matters given by the management.
